Upholstered Goodness
The cork boards in the office are terrible. They’re practically falling apart. They have big holes that show the years-long abuse given by pins and careless postings. The edges of the boards are giving up too. It’s like they have tired of the countless memos, pictures, announcements, calendars and stuff placed on them. You can almost hear them begging to be put out of their misery.
You may have dropped by a swanky new office the other day and stopped at your tracks in astonishment when you saw their new board. It’s like seeing the cork boards of the future. New cork boards are all sleek, shiny, and you won’t hear a peep of protest from them. They hold up their weight nicely. It’s like they had a whole department whose sole aim was to beautify all the boards around. Who wouldn’t blame them? Who would want to put up yellowing and tattered paper on them?
Great thing about new cork boards is their durability. Some boards do not look like boards at all. There are some new boards that have cloth covering them, or probably that’s just the way they are designed at the office. They looked even better than the newly upholstered sofas people had at home. Such elegance at the work place is not really common but is a welcome surprise to everyone. In an old office, someone would probably magically spill coffee onto it, even if it was upright. It wasn’t just the cloth that was pretty. The frames that held it up were also fabulous. Nothing but the best for them most probably. Almost certainly something that needs to be placed in the office too so that we all have something pretty to look at.
